Student Testimonials
I’ve been a student of Lucinda’s Drawing Classes for more than three years. Lucinda has taken me from beginning drawing to pastels to painting. I credit Lucinda’s in-depth knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and patient teaching style with motivating me toward the next challenge. I’ve learned so much, look forward to class each week and enjoy seeing how my work has evolved during my 3+ years with Lucinda. I highly recommend Lucinda’s classes.

Lucinda has been teaching me to draw and paint for several years now. When I first started, I was very concerned, since the last time I did any drawing was back in high school. I'm now in my 60's. She took the time to be extremely patient and gave me all the direction that I needed. She has taught me so much about painting and drawing that I'm starting to get more comfortable with the process. You couldn't ask for a better and more competent teacher. She also a lot of fun and has a great personality, besides being a skilled and talented artist herself.

I am writing in reference to Lucinda St. Laurent.
I participated in a drawing class instructed by Lucinda from November 2016 to June 2017.
Lucinda's is a very talented and patient teacher. Her enthusiasm for the arts is very apparent throughout her lessons. As a beginner, I was very appreciative of the step by step instructions she gave.
Each week she would build on what was taught the week before and gave us the chance to practice and develop our skills. I went home week after week in awe of what I had learned. This class gave me such appreciation for the arts. The perception of the world around me has changed. I look at objects and scenes with new eyes; proportion, color and composition. I have gained such confidence in my abilities.
Lucinda gave us the right amount of tools, tips, encouragement & critiques needed to succeed.
She has a great sense of humor and provides a very relaxed atmosphere conducive to learning.

I took Lucinda's beginner drawing classes and was pleasantly surprised, as I actually learned techniques that helped me not only to draw better, but also really enjoy the process of drawing. She has an amazing portfolio of accomplished works that would encourage anyone to want to have her as a teacher in instruction with acrylics and oils in addition to pastels.

I took a drawing course from Lucinda. Drawing was completely foreign to me, and I had a difficult time with it. We started with pencils and moved on to charcoals. None of it came easily. I really had a difficult time with it. But Lucinda was very steady and patient. She taught me different ways of looking at an object, to see more of it than the obvious, and to not get discouraged. She did a great job of keeping me on track. The eight weeks flew by and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I now see art totally differently, with a new eye and admiration! Whoever takes a class from Lucinda will enjoy themselves immensely, of that I am sure.

I wanted to learn how to paint with oils for a very long time, so I was delighted when a friend of mine recommended Lucinda St Laurent to teach me. Lucinda is an amazing teacher. I had several lessons with her. She taught me so many things, always with a smile. Her encouragement and patience gave me confidence to challenge myself and to achieve my goal. We started with the basics. Choosing the right brushes, selecting the best paints and learning how to mix colors. She taught me how to set up my composition and how to grid my canvas. I spent many enjoyable weeks working on my first still life in oils and can say I am very proud and happy with the results I was able to achieve under her talented and knowledgeable guidance. I would whole heartedly recommend Lucinda to anyone from a complete beginner to anyone who wants to improve their technical skills. She is a natural teacher with a wealth of knowledge and personal talent.
